The ideal candidate for this position should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Disabilities from an accredited university; current Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification; TVI and Orientation & Mobility dual certification is preferred; able to attend and complete required trainings; previous experience working with the visually impaired is preferred; and excellent communication skills.

The TVI provides instruction to children ranging in ages from birth to twenty-one years old, develops and implements individualized lesson plans for each client, collaborates with other professionals, and serves as a community liaison to ensure quality services.


Miami Lighthouse offers a highly competitive salary for this position, including a signing bonus and relocation expenses and outstanding fringe benefits. Signing bonus and relocation allowance are negotiable. This is a continuing 12 month position, and academic year compensation will be adjusted to cover the additional months.
